From Overwhelmed to Anchored

Space to breathe & regroup with your very own wing-woman to help you navigate the challenges of the sector with more ease

Professional Coaching for You

Whether you are stepping into a new leadership role, managing care responsiblities, returning from leave, or supporting others through institutional change – you don’t have to carry it all alone.

This is whole-person coaching to restore your balance, protect your time, and thrive on your own terms.

Through tailored 1-1 coaching, we create a confidential, structured space to help you:

  • Root Deep: Reconnect with your core values, rebuild your confidence, and find an anchored sense of self.
  • Stand Strong: Establish clear boundaries, respond to insitutional politics with more confidence (or more Teflon!), and lead with more assurance.
  • Branch Out: Navigate career progression, increase your impact, and create sustainable space to breathe.

Who This Is For

Women working in Higher Education who are navigating…

  • a demanding leadership role
  • uncertainty within the sector
  • care responsibilities
  • personal and professional transitions
  • an untenable workload
  • the extra pressures that face women – non-promotable work, taking on other’s responsiblities to help out, never feeling like you are doing enough in any role
  • constant context-switching
  • career progression (climbing the ladder or developing and having more impact in your current role)
  • patriarchal, archaic systems
  • how to prioritise your own work amongst everything else going on.

I work with women who want to ‘do academia differently’, have an impact through their work, and want to maintain their wellbeing and a rooted sense of self in the process.

Step out of endless “human-doing” and into an impartial, confidential, resourcing sanctuary built to calm the overwhelm, set clear boundaries, and restore your inner clarity.

“Bryony held a generous empathetic space open for me and in it I became enriched.”

Not sure about how you would even find the time or funds for this??

I hear you.

Coaching can feel like a luxury amongst everything else vying for decresing budgets and your precious energy and headspace.

Well, I shall come to the funding question in a mo.  Let’s start with how coaching can save time and energy (and all the other benefits)…

What You’ll Gain

I believe that 1-1 coaching is the most effective way to develop agency and create more space in the face of the challenges the sector brings.

I hear time and again from women I work with how they are using time more efficiently, how they are more relaxed, and how they are actually prioritising their own, impactful work.

The work we do, and the progress you make, is also something that is actually within your control, which, when you are working in such a big, unweildy system, is no small matter!

By working with me you will:

  • Quieten the self-doubt overwhelm
  • Find space to breathe
  • Remember your worth, resourcefulness & extensive capabilities
  • Re-anchor yourself in assuredness
  • Experience more calm & grounding
  • Gain more clarity on navigating your way forward
  • Implement & maintian boundaries that serve you & your work
  • Go forward with a personalised toolkit to continue to maintain your wellbeing, and develop yourself and your impact with.

But you don’t have to take my word for it.

Keep on scrolling and you will find a downloadable PDF with an evidenced case for coaching (which you can share with your line manager to get the go-ahead for your coaching!) and testimonials from just a few of the women I have worked with.

You can also get more of a sense of what it’s like to work with me here…

But first, a note on funding…

Some women choose to fund the coaching themselves to keep it completely separate from their institution* but many women I speak to simply aren’t aware that it is possible to get coaching funded by your work.

But it is!

Higher Education institutions do fund external coaching.

And it is actually cheaper for them in the long-run to provide that support for you.

It may be that you are at an institution that embraces a coaching culture, or it may be that it’s about finding the people who are advocates, flying the flag and we just need to find out who they are.

If I am already in your institutions finance system, it will be super simple, if I am not, most of the work to sort that is on me.

Of course, getting the funding – the ‘Yes’ – for you to have this incredibly valuable support, is about communicating the value of it to your line manager, HR or Organisation Development & Learning, which is why I created this PDF resource – to make it easier for you to do just that.

(*If this is you, book a call or email me at coaching@bryonyrowntree.com and we can talk.)

So, here is a downloadable document with information to support you in requesting coaching support through the institution you work for.  It takes you through the admin process required for us to start working together as well as giving a business case that you can copy and paste if they need more information (or convincing!)…or you can just share the document with the appropriate person.

I am very happy to answer any questions about this process, and reach out to the appropriate person myself to get things moving (leadership, HR, OD&L, accounts, etc) should that be needed.

Grab Some Time for You Today

This call is an hour just for you.

There is no obligation to work with me on the back of it.

By talking about what you want from coaching (or figuring out if coaching is the type of support you need right now), asking me any questions you have, and making an informed choice together about potentially working together, will give you clarity on your next steps.

(And please don’t let your inner critical voices tell you what you want to work on isn’t worthy, or that I won’t want to hear from you – I do!)

What the women I have worked with say…

“A process of not knowing.”

“I don’t know how you do it, Bryony, but every call so much more comes out of our conversation than I expect.”

“It expands my peripheral vision.”

“Bryony’s a navigator; I’m wading through the marsh and she shines a light and says, ‘It’s this way’.”

“Gentle but firm.”

“Calm and clarifying.”

“Yay! I feel so much better than I did earlier. Bloody hell!”

“Life changing.”

“Life saving.”

“More women need your magic, Bryony.”

And those are just a handful of the short and snappy ones.  Read more here…
