Training for you and your workplace. Raising awareness of Mental Health

Increasing your confidence in helping others and in taking care of your own mental health. Beating stigma and creating a more connected and co-supportive society.

Do you wonder how you would support someone having a panic attack at work?

Are you concerned about the wellbeing and health of the people within your organisation, team or community?

Perhaps you are a professional who works with people and though, like me, you aren’t a therapist, they talk to you about themselves, their lives and sometimes their mental health?

Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace

Stress, depression or anxiety accounted for 15.4 million working days off related to work place ill-health in 2017. On average, each person suffering took around 28.5 days off work. * Now, with the COVID pandemic and all it’s repercussions, those figures will be higher. It has had huge impacts on mental health, the extent of which we still only have a partial understanding of. More and more Leaders are asking what they need to do to uphold the wellbeing and mental health of the people in their organisations.

Addressing the mental health of your work force could not be more important, both for them and for you.

Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.**

So, in simple terms, a quarter of your workforce could be suffering in silence. Whether work is causing the issue or aggravating it, as employers you have a legal responsibility to help your employees.

And, it goes without saying that a happy workforce is a super productive workforce, so great team and individual mental health is crucial on many levels.

Course attendees say..

“This is one of the best ever courses I have ever participated in and I would love the police to have this as part of their training as it’s a big insight into mental health and for people to understand that its ok not to be ok.

The trainers were fantastic and kept check on our welfare. Fantastic course and I will take a lot away from it.”

Kate Riordan, London Met Police

“Since going through my own MH issues, struggling at work, and my personal life, getting back to work was so important to me, but more importantly officers knowing what Mental Health is like, and how to recognise a mental health crisis.

Doing the Mental Health First Aid course was extremely beneficial to me, the help and awareness I can bring to not only work colleagues but friends and family is second to none, I have now created a training package for all line managers showing the benefits of wellbeing and have the know-how on what to do next.

I fully promote this course to anyone who is offered it, all police officers should have this training.”
