Wing-Woman & Space Holder for Women Working in Higher Education
Who am I?
And what qualifies me to work with women in Higher Education?
“I can’t recommend Bryony highly enough. I have worked with Bryony for more than 6 years now and I know I can always come back to her compassionate, insightful and energising coaching to support me to develop as a person. With Bryony’s support I have come to know and understand myself better which has improved my resilience and ability to navigate challenges at work and in my personal life. Bryony brings deep emotional intelligence and skilled enquiry to every session and helps you to navigate your own pathway through the challenges and opportunities you explore together.”
Shona, climber, yogi and university climate research lead
I am a mother, sole trader, Quaker, lover of dancing, rivers & woodland, and eater of cake.
I was raised to contribute to society and have a background in healthcare and education – I have worked with people from birth through to death.
I know how to be with people when things are tough. And I know that there is still so much I don’t know.
I know my priviledges. And I know I still have blind spots.
I know that life is precious. And I know that it isn’t easy.
I love this work. And I know it makes a difference.
My training and qualifications are listed below but here is a synopsis:
~ I am a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation.
~ I have been coaching for 9 years – and coaching women and teams within universities for 8 years.
~ I have been working with women on the following key themes since I started coaching in 2017 – overwhelm, self-doubt, wanting to feel more calm and grounded, navigating change, returning to work, and career progression.
~ Women in universities have described my work as ‘magic’, ‘invaluable’, ‘insightful’, and ‘excellent’.
Working with you to find space to breathe, regroup & progress in your career, without burnout or losing yourself
Root Deep . Stand Strong . Branch Out
I believe that working with the incredible wisdom of our whole-being intelligence is the most effective way back to ourselves, and to a life lived from a place of agency, anchoring, and more calm.
My mission is to work collaboratively with women who are working for a better world through their work in Higher Education so you are more able to create lasting impact without being taken down by the systems, the workload…or the patriarchy!
My aim is to help you find a bit more ease, a comfortable sense of faith in yourself, and a clear, achievable path forward – all without adding to your to-do list.
My hope is for a world where people have a more positive connection to themselves, each other and life, where the invisible load that so many women bare is recognised, valued and redistributed, and where our differences are celebrated, so that we all have more capacity for ourselves, to support each other and to care for society and the planet.
Our journeys through life are a mixture of little steps, big strides, some skipping like no one is watching, a fair amount of holding on for dear life and some scary-as-hell leaps of faith.
Here’s to keeping on adventuring!
Helping you navigate your way through life
I work with creative, nature-loving women and teams who are working for people and planet. I help them to find more alignment, strengthen their relationship with themself and other people, improve wellbeing and Mental Health and create a clear path forward.
I love holding space for individuals and groups of people so that they can connect with themselves and each other; enriching and deepening relationships, conversation and life experience.
The women I work with may be wanting to trust in themselves more, dealing with overwhelm – stress, anxiety or plain busyness – or going through a transition in life, such as returning to work, stepping into leadership, juggling work and care responsibilities, navigating the uncertainty of restructuring, or all of the above!
The teams I work with are keen to improve relationships, work culture and mental health. They honour humanity, are brave enough to know that they do not have all the answers and are curious to see how they can take things forward. Whatever work they do, they want to make the world a better place and care about the people within their working community.
